copied vertical data always pastes horizontally

Postby azaba » Thu Mar 22, 2012 12:51 am

Whenever I copy vertical columns of data from a website and paste it to my spreadsheet, it always pastes it horizontally instead of vertically! When I copy vertical columns from "my spreadsheet" and paste it, it pastes vertically as I've copied it. Why the differance from a website?

Thanks for any help.

Hello azaba,
What you describe is called "transpose" and is a function of Paste Special. You should be able to get or not get this functionality at your will and not Excel's. Read morea bout this at the following link:

I hope this helps.

I do this for "honour and country" - much less of the latter, actually.
If I helped you, award points, plenty of them.
If I bored you, deduct points for being too long-winded. (I know, :lol)
