Excel 2007 getting crashed at close

Postby ateeq_ahmed208 » Sat Dec 10, 2011 10:08 am

Greetings of the day to all,

I am using Excel 2007 with a VBA project (Windows XP SP2). I am closing my workbook after a certain event by code like this: -

"workbooks("workbook name").close savechange:=true"

My project constitutes of three workbook and I am closing them one by one with the same code, at the end I am getting error more frequently "Excel has encountered a problem and needs to close. Sorry for the inconvenience.".
This error is bugging me alot.
Members please help out.

Hi and welcome to the forum!

Can you attach any of the workbooks here so we can take a look at them?

If not, here are a few questions that might help us solve the issue.

If you close the files by hand, in the same order the macro would close them, do you also see this error?
Are the workbooks really large in size? As in, is there a lot of data in the files?
What format are these files? You may be using Excel 2007, but are they files from previous versions of Excel?
Can you include the entire macro used to close the files?

*Also, I'm going to go ahead and put this into the programming section since you are using a macro to close the files.
