Macro question

Postby Learner79 » Wed Jan 04, 2012 2:54 pm

Gurus,

I am looking for a macro which can search for user defined formulas in active workbook(s) and can spit out the result (tabs, cells and count) in a user defined location.
Attached is an example.

Thanks!

Hi,
You may be able to determine the UDF nature of a UDF only by checking it's name against a list of built-in Excel functions. Such lists are published by Microsoft.
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/excel-help/excel-functions-alphabetical-list-HA010277524.aspx

As an alternative you might continue the list of used functions that you have already started to include all functions used in a sheet or book and then work on the list, defining them as to which version of Excel they are listed in. That would leave you with some functions that aren't listed in the library of any version and, therefore, should be user-defined. Same thing in principle but more transparent.
