entering data using the form command onto multiple work shee

Postby dbauman » Wed Dec 21, 2011 11:31 am

I am having trouble figuring this out. I have multiple work sheets that I need to fill at the same time. I am using the "Form" command to enter data onto sheet 1 (which enters the info on the next open row). I want to enter this same info onto other sheets (of my choosing- possibly 2-3 out of 8) at the same time. populating to the next open row.
isthere a formula for this?

Hi and welcome to the forum!

This is pretty easy to do with a UserForm, but I'm not familiar enough with the Form command to know if what you are asking is possible.

However, one quick fix is to simply go to these other sheets and link the cells to the sheet where the Form will input the data. Simply go to cell A1 and type "=" and then click cell A1 on the sheet where the Form will enter the data and hit Enter. Then, copy this formula right as far as it needs to go to get all of the data for a record and down as far as you think it needs to go to get all of the records now and in the future.

This may not be the best way to do this, but it's a pretty quick and easy fix.

hth!

Thanks, thats pretty much what I have been doing- just looking for an easier way. Was hoping that I could group sheets that I selected which I wanted the info to go to and just enter the info once where it would automatically choose the next blank row for the info to be placed

If this is something that you will be doing often. Look into using a UserForm. This provides you with a considerable amount of flexibility and features since you will be able to do anything with it that you can do with VBA and Macros in Excel.
