Vacation accrued in hours based on length of service

Postby Rhodas2015 » Mon Feb 08, 2016 5:13 pm

Hello Folks :)

I am trying to calculate vacation accrued in hours based on length of service. Vacation begins to accrue after three months of service, or after three months from the anniversary date in cases of employees working for over a year. Our pay period is generally a 90 hours bi-weekly shift. Some employees work 86 or 84.

What I really need is a formula that will calculate how many hours of vacation each employee has accrued for each complete year of service, and if they have worked an additional three months or more, let that add to each complete year.

My basic formula to calculate vacation for a 90-hour shift employee who has not completed a year is this: 4 months of service x 90 hours/12 months=30 hours accrued vacation. So, if employee A worked for 1 year and 3 months, his vacation accrued should be 120 hours. Please see attached sample spreadsheet.
