Conditional Formatting Date

Postby rbarnett_5 » Thu Dec 22, 2011 3:33 pm

Hi,
Can anyone help me. I am creating a spreadsheet in Excel 2000 with dates in column d that correspond to data in column c. How can I cause cells in column d to be color coded in response to column c. Example: Column D date: 12/10/11, Column C data: unpaid do not support. I know I can do this in Conditional Formatting but I do not Know the formula I should use to make it work. Please help.
Thanks

Hi,

You can use a formula like this one:
Code: Select all
=C4="unpaid do not support"

It should be entered in the IsFormula section of the conditional formatting dialog box and you must specify a Pattern in order to change the cell color. The formula will evaluate to True if C4 has the specified text in it, and if it evaluates to True the specified coloring will take effect.
